JEROMESVILLE — The Hillsdale boys golf team is going where no Falcons have gone in 38 years.

Hilsdale is headed to the boys state golf tournament Oct. 12 and 13.

Lowen Ferguson, Carsten McFadden, Kolton Kochheiser, Coy Collins, and Easton McCrory.

The Falcons qualified for the event by finishing third at the Division III Northeast District Tournament at Tannenhauf Golf Club last weekend.

Hillsdale posted a team score of 345 to secure a third-place finish behind Mogadore (337) and Independence (338).

The Falcons were led by sophomore Carsten McFadden, who carded an 82. He was supported by sophomore Kolton Koccheiser (85), junior Lowen Ferguson (88), sophomore Easton McCory (90) and sophomore Coy Collins. (92).

The performance marks the first time a Hillsdale boys golf team has qualified for the state tournament in 38 years, breaking a streak that dates back to 1988.

Next for coach Kyle Wissel’s team is a date at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury, where the Falcons will tee off for 36-hole stroke play.

The state tournament field will feature top high school programs from across Ohio. Tournament schedule details, tee times, and ticketing information will be made available through the OHSAA website and official Hillsdale Athletics channels.
