ASHLAND — Ashland will take the Ohio Cardinal Conference Coach of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year into the postseason when the tournament trail begins on Wednesday night.

Senior Paige Swanson was selected the conference defensive player of the year, while coach Dave Zimmerly was the league’s coach of the year honoree, when the teams were released on Tuesday night.

Overall, nine Arrows earned all-conference recognition. Ashland won the OCC with a 5-0-1 league record, edging Madison’s 4-0-2 mark. Ashland is 10-3-3 overall heading into the tournament.

Here’s a look at the girls soccer tournament action coming up this week.

Ashland is the lone area Division I team and earned the No. 4 seed in the Sylvania Northview district field. The Arrows will host No. 8 seed Findlay at 5 p.m. Wednesday for a sectional title. Findlay blanked Toledo Start 12-0 on Monday.

In Division II, Madison earned the top seed at the Lexington district and will host No. 9 Mansfield Senior at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The winner meets No. 8 Galion at noon Saturday, with the higher seeded team hosting the sectional final. No. 2 Lexington will host No. 7 Vermilion in a sectional final at noon Saturday, while No. 3 Ontario hosts No. 6 Sandusky Perkins at 6 p.m. Thursday. Fourth-seeded Clear Fork welcomes No. 5 Norwalk to the Valley at noon Saturday.

In Division III, Crestview earned the No. 2 seed in the Findlay district and will play No. 10 Ada at 5 p.m. Tuesday. No. 3 Mansfield Christian has an opening-round bye and will host either No. 4 Van Buren or No. 6 Riverdale at 5 p.m. Thursday for the sectional championship. No. 7 seed St. Peter’s visits No. 5 Bluffton at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Elsewhere in Division III, No. 9 seed Hillsdale beat No. 8 Mapleton in a shootout Monday and will visit top-seeded Northwestern at 7 p.m. Thursday. Seventh-seeded Loudonville blasted No. 10 Tuslaw 6-1 on Monday and will play at second-seeded Chippewa at 7 p.m. Thursday.
