LOUDONVILLE — The Rotary Club of Loudonville will partner with Rotary clubs across Ohio and the Midwest in a unique cooking project to raise money to benefit Rotary’s End Polio Campaign.
Chicago-area celebrity chef Sarah Stegner, who formerly was head chef at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel dining room before becoming co-executive chef and co-owner of the Prairie Grass Cafe in suburban Northbrook, Illinois, will lead the online cooking class at 3 p.m. on Oct. 17.
Stegner is a passionate supporter of bringing sustainable locally-based ingredients to the mainstream, and is the past president and founding board member of Green City Market, which today represents more than 50 certified farms.
“I am pleased to do my part to contribute and help raise money to eradicate polio,” Stegner said.
In the Celebrity Kitchen Party online event, Stegner will lead participants in preparation of a gourmet dinner of slow roasted salmon with leeks, parsnips and crunchy apple slaw followed by an apple crepe dessert.
Registration requires a minimum $10 donation to Rotary’s End Polio Now program, which can be made online by visiting rotarydistrict6600.org/kitchenparty.
Once you are registered, you will receive full details on participating in the kitchen party, including a complete list of meal ingredients, preparation details, and a personal cooking lesson, along with access information to the program, which will be presented via the Zoom digital platform.
