CANAAN TOWNSHIP – A Wooster woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday night, according to the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Jessica Gaumer, 44, of Wooster, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At approximately 9:52 p.m. troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Wooster Post were dispatched to a report of a severe injury crash on Ohio 83 (Burbank Road) at the intersection of County Road 48 (Pleasant Home Road).

The initial investigation revealed a dark green 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup was eastbound on CR 48 driven by Lawrence Blair, 19, of Jeromesville. A black 2015 Harley Davidson Sportsman motorcycle was southbound on SR 83 driven by Gaumer. Troopers determined the eastbound Dodge Ram failed to yield from the posted stop sign while attempting a left turn, and was struck by the southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle.

At the time of crash, it does not appear that Guamer was wearing a helmet. Blair did not sustain any injuries from the crash and was wearing a seatbelt at that time of the incident.

The events and factors of this crash remain under investigation. It does not appear that alcohol or drugs are considered at this time.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Canaan Township Fire and EMS, and the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.
