ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery and the Ashland Community Arts League (AshCAL) are seeking works for the 2017 Juried Member Exhibition that will run from May 19 to June 17 in the Coburn Gallery on the AU campus.
The exhibition is open to all artists who are current members of AshCAL. New members may join for a reduced membership fee ($30 for 2017) at the time of entry. Completed entrant information cards, entry fee and work with labels attached must be provided at the time of entry.
Works in any media, traditional or experimental, qualify and all works must be original (no kits or commercial patterns will be accepted), including photographic editing. Work must be ready to exhibit and completed within the last two years. Work may not have been previously exhibited at Coburn Gallery. There is a $20 entry fee for up to three entries.
Work must be hand delivered to the Coburn Gallery on May 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. and May 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All work must be wired and ready to hang when delivered. No sawtooth hangers. Please address any questions to martyleedesigns@gmail.com.
The juror for the exhibition is watercolorist Cathy Welner from Richfield, Ohio. For more than 28 years, Welner has been teaching watercolor and has served as faculty of Continuing Education at the Cleveland Institute of Art where she has taught workshops nationally and internationally, including a recent workshop on Lake Como, Italy. Welner’s work has been featured in galleries in New York, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts and Ohio. Her work hangs in hundreds of private and corporate collections both here and abroad.
