ASHLAND — There were 19 people sentenced in January for felony convictions in Ashland County.

Ashland County Common Pleas Court Judge David Stimpert ordered the following sentences, unless otherwise noted. The following names stem from a report generated by Stimpert.

Two people receive ‘intervention in lieu of conviction’ rulings

Intervention in lieu of conviction rulings are issued when a court determines that drug or alcohol usage, mental illness or intellectual disability was a factor leading to the criminal offense.

  • Steven Viers, 41, of Ashland, received an ILC for a conviction of possession of cocaine. The terms of the ILC plan require two years of supervision, substance abuse and mental health programming and maintaining sobriety. Viers received 86 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. The case originated Dec. 23, 2025.
  • Spencer Hamilton, 33, of Ashland, received an ILC for a conviction of possession of cocaine. The terms of the ILC plan require two years of supervision, substance abuse programming and maintaining sobriety. Hamilton received five days of jail credit and also faces court costs. The case originated Nov. 13, 2025.

Four people sentenced March 2

  • Bailey Grimwood, 25, of Ashland, was sentenced to 180 days in jail and nine months in prison following convictions of domestic violence and strangulation. One count of abduction was dismissed. Grimwood received 76 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Grimwood will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Jan. 9.
  • Josh Wolfe, 46, of Ashland, was sentenced to 12 months in prison following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. Wolfe received 104 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Wolfe will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Nov. 20, 2025.
  • Dustin Luikart, 40, of Ashland, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. Luikart received 24 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Luikart will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Feb. 4.
  • Michael Adkins, 52, of Ashland, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of violation of a Temporary Protection Order. Adkins received 61 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Adkins will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Nov. 13, 2025.

One person sentenced March 5

  • Jesse Santos, 60, of Canton, was sentenced to three years in prison following the conviction of an amended charge of abduction. Three charges were dismissed: gross sexual imposition, sexual imposition and endangering children. Santos received two days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Santos also received one to three years of post-release control. The case originated Feb. 14, 2025.

Three people sentenced March 9

  • Troy Fox, 51, of Nova, was sentenced to two concurrent prison sentences of nine and six months following convictions of violation of fireworks manufacturer prohibitions and possessing criminal tools. Fox received 20 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Fox will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated April 10, 2025.
  • Michael Miller, 44, of Cleveland, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. One count of falsification was dismissed. Miller received five days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Miller will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Oct. 10, 2024.
  • Matthew Dewitt, 29, of Loudonville, was sentenced to 11 to 16 1/2 years in prison following convictions of attempted murder, domestic violence and aggravated possession of drugs. Dewitt also received an 180-day jail sentence and a 12-month prison sentence, both of which will be served concurrently with his lengthiest sentence. Two charges were dismissed: felonious assault and an additional count of domestic violence. Dewitt received 279 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Dewitt faces two to five years of mandatory post-release control. The case originated June 5, 2025.

Two people sentenced March 12-13

  • John Bixby, 35, of Polk, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs, with a one-year firearm specification. Bixby received five days of jail credit and also faces a $5,000 fine, plus court costs. Upon release, Bixby will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Sept. 13, 2024.
  • Lisha Clantz, 47, of Ashland, was sentenced to 55 days in jail and a substance abuse treatment program following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. Clantz received 41 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Clantz will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction if prison is imposed. Clantz also received two years of community control, with reserved prison time of six to 12 months if community control is violated. The case originated Nov. 2, 2025.

Four people sentenced March 16

  • Daniel Bryan, 48, of Ashland, was sentenced to 66 days in jail and a substance abuse treatment program following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. Bryan received 66 days of jail credit and also faces a $250 fine, plus court costs. Upon release, Bryan will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction if prison is imposed. Bryan also received two years of community control, with reserved prison time of six to 12 months if community control is violated. The case originated Oct. 9, 2025.
  • Dajour Robinson, 29, of Mansfield, was sentenced to eight months in prison following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. Robinson received 88 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Robinson will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Sept. 8, 2022.
  • Shayne Sparrow, 19, of Ashland, was sentenced to 180 days in jail following convictions of corrupting another with drugs and endangering children. Two counts were dismissed: trafficking in marijuana and contributing to delinquency. Sparrow received 124 days of jail credit and faces a fine of $250, plus court costs. Upon release, Sparrow will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction if prison is imposed. Sparrow also received three years of mandatory community control, with reserved prison time of six to 18 months if community control is violated. The case originated Nov. 17, 2025.
  • Michelle Willis, 49, of Ashland, was sentenced to eight months in prison and 96 days in jail, to be served concurrently, following convictions of aggravated possession of drugs and OVI. Willis received 126 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Willis will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated May 1, 2024.

Two people sentenced March 17

  • Colby Cushingberry, 44, of Mansfield, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. A count of possession of drugs was dismissed. Cushingberry received 19 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Cushingberry will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Feb. 13, 2025.
  • John Wolfe, 27, of Ashland, was sentenced to 180 days in jail and a mental health treatment program following the conviction of criminal tools. A menacing by stalking charge was dismissed. Wolfe received 196 days of jail credit and also faces a $250 fine, plus court costs. Upon release, Wolfe will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction if prison is imposed. Wolfe also received two years of community control. The case originated May 2, 2025.

Three people sentenced March 23

  • Andrew Voltz, 35, of Wooster, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and a mental health treatment program following convictions of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of drugs, failure to stop after accident and failure to comply. Voltz received 92 days of jail credit and faces a $250 fine, plus court costs. Voltz also received a two-year operator’s license suspension and 100 hours of community work service. Upon release, Voltz will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction if prison is imposed. Voltz also received two years of community control, with reserved prison time of six to 12 months if community control is violated. The case originated Sept. 20, 2023.
  • Sebastian Walters, 21, of Ashland, was sentenced to six months in prison following the conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. Walters received 90 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Walters will face an optional two-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Sept. 16, 2025.
  • Thomas Foley, 20, of Ashland, was sentenced to 12 months in prison following the conviction of unlawful sexual contact with a minor. Foley received 99 days of jail credit and also faces court costs. Upon release, Foley faces a mandatory five-year post-release control sanction. The case originated Dec. 12, 2025.
