LOUDONVILLE — A 21-year-old Butler man was killed in a one-vehicle motorcycle crash Sunday night.
According to a press release from the Ashland post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jonathan D. Thran was riding a 2015 Kawasaki Z1000 motorcycle north on County Road 3175 south of Ohio 3 at 10:02 p.m. Sunday. Thran drove off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. He was ejected from his motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries.
Thran had his temporary motorcycle permit and was wearing a helmet. Alcohol and unsafe speed are suspected factors in the crash.
The Loudonville Police Department, Loudonville Fire Department, and Ashland County Coroner’s Office assisted on scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
