ASHLAND — The Ashland Area Convention & Visitors Bureau will sponsor the 11th annual Lincoln Highway Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 12 at the University Hospitals Samaritan on Main property, 663 E. Main St.
“It’s going to be a beautiful day for a car show,” said Amy Daubenspeck, executive director of the Ashland Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The show will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Car owners will be charged $5 per vehicle. Registration runs from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be dash plaques and goody bags for the first 100 cars.
For the Car Show, there will be four classes: Car, Rod, Truck, and featured Pontiacs of all makes and models. All Pontiac vehicles will be admitted free.
Car Show participants will vote on their favorites and the awards ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. Awards will include one best of each class, one best of show, and four plaques for each class.
A DJ will provide entertainment throughout the event. Food will be available for purchase.
The sponsors for this year’s car show are Armstrong Cable, Bill Harris Auto and Black Diamond Detail.
The car show isn’t the only attraction on East Main Street.
“UH Samaritan will be having their health and safety fair in the building, so you can enjoy the car show and then check out the health fair,” Daubenspeck said.
The public can head into the UH Samaritan building for a number of free screenings, including balance, blood pressure, foot, glucose and hearing screenings during the health fair.
Also, the Health Fair will offer free five-minute neck massages, hands-only CPR training, the opportunity to speak with medical professionals and the chance to find a primary care practice.
