ASHLAND — The Ohio Department of Transportation has issued its District 3 weekly construction report for the week of Oct. 9.
As a result, Ashland County drivers are urged to use caution on these roads:
Interstate 71
I-71, from the Ashland Co. line to the US 250 ramps, will have daytime single lane closures and nighttime double lane closures as crews continue work on a resurfacing project. Motorists are advised to use caution when driving through the work zone. All work is weather dependent. The project is expected to be complete October 2017.
State Route 58
SR 58, just south of County Rd. 40, will close Tuesday, October 10 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 58 to SR 224, east on SR 224 to SR 301, north on SR 301 to SR 162, west on SR 162 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project is expected to be complete October 20, 2017.
State Route 60
SR 60, between US 250 and US 224, may be reduced to one lane of traffic for a chip seal resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed. The project is expected to be complete October 2017.Â

State Route 96
SR 96, between Twp. Rd. 1293 and Twp. Rd. 1253, will close Monday, October 9 for a culvert replacement. Twp. Rd. 1253 will remain open during construction. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 96 to SR 545, northeast on SR 545 to US 250, southeast on US 250 to SR 96, and reverse for westbound motorists. The project is expected to be complete November 2017.
County Road 655
CR 655 at the US 30 bridge spanning the roadway, between Water St. and County Rd. 1802, is closed for an emergency bridge repair. The detour route for northbound motorists is CR 655 to CR 1754, west on CR 1754 to SR 60, south on SR 60 to SR 179, east on SR 179 to CR 655, and reverse for southbound motorists. Currently there is no estimated time as to when the project will be completed.
