ASHLAND – A 33-year-old Ashland man was charged with trafficking in cocaine after he was arrested during a drug deal in the WalMart parking lot.
According to a press release from the Ashland police department, Ashland Police Detective Brian Evans, a member of the METRICH Drug Task Force, was conducting follow-up on another investigation Monday at WalMart, 1996 E. Main St., when he observed a suspected drug deal in the lot. Curtis Crowell, 33, of Ashland was arrested.
The investigation resulted in a search warrant which was served at Crowell’s residence later Monday. Ashland Police and METRICH seized suspected heroin, suspected crack cocaine, a 40-caliber pistol, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
