MANSFIELD — This year’s Pumpkin Glow is shaping up to be the biggest one yet, according to Kingwood Center Gardens staff.
“Every year, of course, we try to outdo the previous year, so we’re hoping this year is going to be our biggest Pumpkin Glow to date,” said Brandon Clayton, Kingwood’s visitor services director.
“That being said, we’re gearing up for more food trucks and more kids’ activities than we’ve had in the past to accommodate the large crowds.”
Featuring over 2,000 lit pumpkins, the Great Pumpkin Glow will light up the night starting Saturday, Oct. 20 from 5 to 10 p.m. at Kingwood Center Gardens. The event continues Sunday, Oct. 21 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Kingwood will also host three days of community pumpkin carving Wednesday, Oct. 17 through Friday, Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. during which the public is invited to carve pumpkins for the Glow. No admission fee will be charged.
In addition to a wide display of jack-o-lanterns, the Pumpkin Glow will feature harvest decor throughout the grounds, the Lil’ Carvers Carnival, $3-hay rides, food trucks and music.
Pumpkin Glow tickets are available online at kingwoodcenter.org for $6 or $8 at the gate (no charge to children 6 and under).
Attendees also have the option of purchasing of a Pumpkin Pass. For $10, guests receive one ticket to the Pumpkin Glow and one ticket to the Little Buckeye Children’s Museum. Tickets apply only to Oct. 20 or 21.
