ASHLAND – Jessica Quinn-DeLosh has long dreamed of owning her own salon, and now the Ashland stylist is living her dream.

Many of the furnishings at Color Sanctuary Salon and Spa are things Quinn-DeLosh has been stockpiling for years as she waited for the right time to expand her business.

She recently dug her treasures out of storage and went from renting a booth in another salon to running her own shop. Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new business Friday.

Located at 1006 East Main Street, Color Sanctuary is designed to be a colorful and artistic expression of Quinn-DeLosh’s own personality and the brand she represents, Paul Mitchell.

For example, Quinn-DeLosh invites clients to watch her select and mix hair colors at her “color bar.”

“You can see my creativity. I don’t just go into the back room and come back magically in ten minutes with one bowl of color… It’s that culture of being an artist,” Quinn-DeLosh said.

Quinn-DeLosh offers a coffee and wine bar for clients. She also does before and after photo shoots with most of her clients, creating photos she and her clients love to share on social media.

Quinn-DeLosh hopes the atmosphere of her salon and spa will become a sanctuary not only for herself, but also for her clients.

Her daughter, Alexis Foster, said that is already happening.

“People don’t come here just to get their hair done. They come for the environment,” Foster said. “It’s a business, but it feels like a home.”

Quinn-DeLosh said she is grateful to her family, including husband Joe DeLosh and her daughters, Alexis Foster and Lilly DeLosh as well as to her landlord, Gavin White, for helping to make her dream a reality.

Quinn-DeLosh is excited about finally having washout stations and expanding her offerings with nail, skin care, makeup and other services. Eventually, she hopes to add massage therapy and eyebrow tattooing.

She recently hired a second stylist, Ashley Brockway, who will bring her microblading tattooing specialty as well as other salon and spa services.

Color Sanctuary offers services by appointment and also takes walk-in clients.
