ASHLAND — A Buckeye Street couple was arrested by Ashland police on Monday, after a cocaine trafficking investigation by Ashland police detectives assigned to the METRICH Enforcement Unit.
The man, 27, and the woman, 22, both of Ashland, were held in the Ashland County Jail after officers stopped a vehicle operated by the male in the 300 block of East Main.
The man was taken into custody after a brief struggle as he was trying to flee. Minutes later, other officers and detectives executed a search warrant at the couple’s home on Buckeye Street.
Police seized suspected cocaine, a firearm, cash, drug paraphernalia, criminal tools, and other evidence of drug use and drug trafficking during the investigation.
The couple’s two small children were taken into custody by the Ashland County Department of Job and Family Services.
Monday’s incident was part of an ongoing investigation conducted by Ashland police following complaints to APD and Children Services regarding drug use and drug trafficking at the residence.
