Open Source might just be Ashland Source’s best-kept secret, but we’d rather not keep it that way.
That’s because Open Source is a public-powered journalism tool that allows you, our readers, to assign our next stories.
The process is simple. Anyone can submit a question. Our newsroom will select some questions to answer right away, and we may put other questions up for a vote in which the most popular questions get answered.
We started Open Source in Ashland with a soft launch last September, asking visitors to our Ashland County Fair booth to submit questions.
Already we’ve answered two of those questions– What’s happening to Ashland’s Essex House? and Is the tunnel on Milton Township Road 1536 haunted?
Those stories proved to be some of our most popular and engaging articles last fall.
We’re in the process investigating more of your questions, so stay tuned for more Open Source pieces soon.
In the meantime, we’d like you to ask your own questions via Open Source.
Maybe you have questions about a specific person, place or topic? Or maybe you wonder about how or why things work a certain way in Ashland County?
You can ask a question anytime by clicking the “Open Source” link under the “Talk to Us” tab on www.ashlandsource.com.
You can also submit a question now by filling out the form below.
