ASHLAND — The Ashland County Board of Developmental Disabilities is hosting a ACBDD Celebrity Bowling Tournament on Wednesday, March 27 at Luray Lanes in Ashland.

This event brings eight local celebrities from the Ashland community together for a night of food, bowling, and a chance to celebrate March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

“We have invited various local leaders to be captains of a group of adults or students with developmental disabilities for a fun game of bowling” said Bruce Kramer of the ACBDD. “We expect to have a total of eight teams of four and eight captains for a total of 40 bowlers.

“Various awards will be given for most strikes, spares, gutter balls, etc. There is no cost for the public to attend.”

Local celebrities include Chris Box (Director of Associated Charities), Cindy Funk (Ashland County Auditor), Chief Dave Marcelli, Mayor Matt Miller, Deb Myers (Ashland County Clerk of Courts), Molly Riley (CEO of Ashland YMCA), Sherriff Wayne Risner and Commissioner Mike Welch.

“This event is not a fundraiser but just an opportunity for individuals with disabilities and community leaders to share the experience and camaraderie”, Kramer said.

Registration is at 10:30 a.m. with the event scheduled to end around 12:30 p.m.
