ASHLAND — Mayor Matt Miller has unveiled a plan to promote Ashland’s progress and construction sites through the use of signs. The announcement was made during Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.
Starting this month, a wave of these signs will be erected all over the downtown Ashland area, mainly focused on construction sites and developing businesses/ companies.
They are meant to inform people who pass through Ashland that the community is growing and that the city is becoming more relevant.
“For someone who is coming to town or passing through town, it could appear that there is a whole lot of messes going on in Ashland right now,” Miller said. “In order to let people know that Ashland is on the rise, we have designed a new sign that we are going to feature all across the city.”
“The campaign will be ‘Ashland on the Rise.’ ”
All the signs will have the same format, equipped with the proper logo that fits the location of the specific sign. It will also include general information for how the establishment is connected or partnered to the city of Ashland.
“I think it might do all of us good to see these signs and see how many of them there are,” Miller said. “These aren’t just long-term messes, but actually they are signs of Ashland progress; Ashland on the Rise.”
Amanda Patterson came up with the design of the signs. It is not yet determined how long these signs will remain established.
