ASHLAND — The Ashland Tire and Offroad store officially celebrated opening its doors to the Ashland community on Wednesday.

Located on Clark Avenue, Ashland Tire and Offroad offers several different services from regular vehicle needs to lift kits, suspensions, modeling kits and more.

“We don’t just get vehicles out as fast as we can,” said Mike Valek, owner of the shop. “We take pride in what we do.

“This is the shop where you come for high-end stuff and people who pay attention to detail.”

Valek wasn’t the only one to celebrate the grand opening. He was joined by his daughter Logan, an employee at the new shop. Mayor Matt Miller was sure to extend his welcoming praise to both of them.

“One of the things we focus on in this community is trying to show our young women that they don’t have to stick with those careers that are traditionally thought of as female careers,” Miller said at the ribbon-cutting. “They are allowed to be creative and pursue other things.”

Logan is a breaker of the common stereotype and should exulted among young, passionate women in the Ashland community, her father noted. Amid applause, Valek proudly detailed the unique features of the business.

“Other shops are focused on numbers,” Valek said. “We are focused on quality.

“A lot of times we are cheaper than internet pricing, and a lot of people don’t know that.”

Ashland Tire and Offroad is open for business weekdays until 5 p.m. and Saturdays until 1 p.m. For questions or to make an appointment, call Mike Valek at 419-685-9237.
