ROWSBURG – Three children died in a house fire Sunday night in Perry Township, Ashland County Emergency Management Agency Director Mark Rafeld confirmed today.

A house at 234 Township Road 1550 was fully engulfed in flames when members of the Jeromesville Fire Department arrived around midnight. 

Three children, ages 1, 4 and 12, died in the blaze. Their two parents sustained burns, though the severity of the burns hasn’t been released. Another child escaped the house; their age and injuries are unknown. 

The house was destroyed, according to Rafeld. 

The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s office was called to the scene, along with several other area fire departments. 

Jeromesville Fire Chief Todd Elliot will provide more information later today, Rafeld said.
