ASHLAND – The Ohio Department of Transportation has issued its District 3 construction report for the week of Sept. 16.

Ashland County drivers are urged to use caution on these roads:

State Route 58

SR 58, from US 250 to the Lorain County line, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing and bridge repair project. Flaggers will be used, allowing one lane of traffic at a time through the work zone. The project is expected to be complete September 2019.

State Route 60

SR 60, between McKinley Blvd. and Lauretta Ave., will have intermittent single lane closures as needed to complete structure work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete October 2019.

State Route 95

SR 95, over the Black Fork Mohican River, will be reduced to one lane of traffic as crews complete bridge painting. Traffic will be maintained by a signalized lane closure. The project is expected to be complete September 2019.

State Route 97 UPDATE

SR 97, between the Richland/Ashland County line and SR 3, is closed for a resurfacing project. Access will be maintained to the Mohican Memorial State Forest throughout the duration of the project. Traffic will be maintained from either the SR 3 side (east end) or from the Richland/Ashland County line side (west end), but not simultaneously. Message boards are located at both ends of the forest with the most up-to-the-minute closure information. Motorists will be detoured accordingly. The Project Engineer will work with those who need access and notify them which direction they will be allowed to enter the zone. The posted detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 97 to SR 95, northeast on SR 95 to SR 39, southeast on SR 39 to SR 3, southwest on SR 3 to SR 97, and reverse for westbound motorists. Local traffic will still have access onto SR 97. The entire project is expected to be complete October 2019.

State Route 302

SR 302, just northwest of Perry Twp. Rd. 63, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northwest motorists is SR 302 to SR 301, north on SR 301 to SR 604, west on SR 604 to US 42, south on US 42 to SR 302, and reverse for southeast motorists. The road is expected to reopen Monday, September 23, 2019.
