ASHLAND — Ashland County has looked different than “normal” for the past month and a half, as residents, business owners and local leadership reacted to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We now walk by empty storefronts and restaurants on Main Street, wear masks over our faces when going to the grocery store and stand six or more feet away from each other when interacting with one another.

Across Ashland County, playgrounds are bare, public meetings are online and classes are now taught at the dining room table.

My new normal looks something like the picture above. Admittedly, there’s usually papers and other tech scattered across the couch and coffee table beside me. My other dog, not pictured, often makes (successful) attempts to distract me, too.

Since masks are highly recommended and especially since I’m a first-time mom-to-be, I purposefully wear the fox-and-heart-printed mask that my OBGYN’s mother made for him to pass out to concerned patients. Typically it’s off when working on my computer, but it makes appearances at home when I’m interacting with delivery men and women, who bring gifts from our “virtual baby shower” to my door.

My quarantine also looks like drive-thru donuts, Easter dinner for two and frequent walks to the kitchen for snack breaks.

Life for everyone over the past few weeks has looked different than our “normal,” and with your help, Ashland, I’d like to capture this moment in time with pictures.

You can help me by submitting your best photos from the past month and a half to tracy@ashlandsource.com. Email your photos by no later than noon Wednesday, April 29.

Maybe you snapped pictures of your at-home classroom? Or maybe you have a photo from your walk through Freer Field?

Scroll through your camera roll, I bet you have something. And if you send it my way, I’ll consider including it in a photo gallery to publish next week.

Thanks for your help, Ashland.
