ASHLAND — Ashland Arrow sports fans, you’ve come through for your local teams.
We received more than 100 messages of support for the Arrows football and lady soccer teams, as well as several other regional schools competing in their quest for a state championship.
Though the Lady Arrows soccer team fell to Anthony Wayne in a tight game that went to overtime last night, no matter the outcome your community rallied behind you.
The Ashland Arrows football team dropped a heartbreaker on Friday night after a last-second field goal by Parma Heights Holy Name led to a 17-14 loss in the Division III, Region 10 semifinal.

Girls, you all rock! It was more years than I care to admit that I, along with some of my closest friends, took the field for AHS in the elite eight game. To this day, those memories are some of my most favorites, I encourage you all to take it all in – remember why you play, enjoy every bit of practice leading up to the big game. You know the game, you know YOUR game, just play it and have fun – you’ll do great! You may not realize it yet but your paving the path for the girls coming up behind you and your town and past alumni are cheering you on, wishing you well and hoping you kick some butt! “This is a big time of year for anyone hearing this! These are your last couple races and possibly of your high school career. All the miles ran and workouts done along side your team has lead up to this. I am thankful to see that your cross country season has been eventful and enjoyable as mine was sadly cancelled by the NCAA. It has been nice to keep up with some racing for the time being. Be thankful for all the friends you have made along the way who are also cheering you on during these difficult times. For seniors never take the time you have left for granted. It will hit you faster than you know it. Do it not only for yourself but for the younger ones looking up to be just like you one day. Go out and run you race smart and tactical.
