ASHLAND — Representatives from Ashland University and North Central State College met virtually Monday morning to sign two new articulation agreements formalizing two new transfer opportunities for NCSC graduates to complete bachelor’s degrees at Ashland University.
AU Provost Dr. Amiel Jarstfer and North Central Vice President of Academic Services and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Karen Reed formalized agreements that will allow for a transition for NCSC students earning an associate of arts with a psychology focus to complete either AU’s bachelor of science or bachelor of arts degree in Psychology.
In addition, NCSC graduates with an associate of business, majoring in visual communication media and technology-graphic design can now transfer to Ashland University to complete a bachelor of arts with a major in fine arts with a graphic design studio concentration.
“NCSC students enjoy going to Ashland University,” Reed said, “and this makes their trip so much easier. … I’m just grateful. Truly, we have so much to be thankful for.”
AU Art and Design Department Chair Dr. Dan McDonald said his department recently welcomed an NCSC student and looks forward to being able to use the articulation agreement to make the transition smoother and more streamlined.
“I am excited to see what these students will bring to the program, and this agreement makes their transition seamless,” he said.
“Ashland University is one of our closest, strongest partners,” said NC State Dean of Liberal Arts Deb Hysell. “I am looking forward to sending many more students to AU to continue their studies.”
