ASHLAND — Luke Denbow and Eli White provided the scoring and Ashland dominated the middle two quarters to subdue Lexington 57-42 Saturday night in an Ohio Cardinal Conference basketball game.
Denbow erupted for 25 points and seven assists, while White collected 21 points and nine rebounds to fuel the home victory.
The two squads battled to a 12-12 first-quarter tie, before Ashland (15-4 overall, 8-2 in the OCC) moved on top 30-22 at the half. The Arrows stretched the margin to 49-31 heading to the final eight minutes.
Baden Forup notched 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Minutemen (4-10, 0-9), and junior Hudson Moore chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. Those two helped Lexington forge a 37-26 rebounding advantage.
Yet Ashland forced 17 turnovers while committing only eight, and had six treys to Lexington’s one field goal behind the arc.
Lexington hosts Mount Vernon on Tuesday. West Holmes visits Ashland that same night.
