ASHLAND — The Chartis Center for Rural Health in March named University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital in the United States for the second year in a row. 

The medical facility in Ashland is a 52-bed hospital is dedicated to serving Ashland County and surrounding communities.

UH Samaritan Medical Center is only one of five rural hospitals in Ohio to receive this recognition.

Rankings are based on The Hospital Strength INDEX® consisting of eight “pillars:” inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge and financial efficiency.
