ASHLAND — Ashland was graced with the dawning of a trio of businesses at RenewU Lofts late Tuesday afternoon.
Simply Skin, Tan With Kare by Heather, and Relief Massage will share a reception space at 138 N Davis Road in a collaborative environment dubbed RenewU Lofts.
Leigh Kramer, owner of Relief Massage, has been a massage therapist for 21 years.
“Six or seven years ago, I started thinking I wanted to be in charge of my own business; and I wanted to be an umbrella for other small boutique-style, female-owned businesses to come under,” Kramer said. “Four years ago, I did make the leap to own my own business.
“Two years ago, Heather Osborn from Tan With Kare joined me, and that’s when it really started gaining speed.”
Kramer and Osborn moved to the Davis Road space in November, with Jenn Martz joining the collaboration in March.

Heather Osborn, owner of Tan With Kare by Heather has been doing sunless spray tanning for 11 years.
“I had the vision to have a brick-and-mortar spray tanning business in my hometown years ago, but spray tanning was not a thing 11 years ago,” said Osborn. “Body builders did it and pageant kids did it; that was it.”
Tan With Kare by Heather was originally a mobile business that focused her efforts on weddings, homecomings, proms and other special events. The business has now become Osborn’s full-time occupation.

Jenn Martz, owner of Simply Skin began her business in October of 2019.
“I specialize in anti-aging and teen acne,” Martz said. “I also do microblading, eyelash extensions and everything beauty from the face up.”
Martz also crafts earrings and sells custom t-shirts. She also offers wedding and prom makeup services.
As of Tuesday, the three companies are officially open for business.
“It’s a one-stop shop and we’re super happy to be here,” Kramer said. “We love Ashland; it’s been very supportive to all of us.
“Ashland has taken very good care of us.”
