Graduating seniors in 2021 are emerging from one of the most historically challenging years for education.

On top of the intense workload and stressful decision-making high school and college seniors often face, this year’s graduating class navigated a global pandemic and adapted to a “new normal,” too.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, students have adjusted to virtual learning, cancelled or modified sports and the constant anxiety of the unknown. Some faced the overwhelming loss of family members or friends.

The resilience, flexibility and determination of the class of 2021 gives us hope for the future.

We believe seniors should be fully recognized for their incredible achievements in the wake of a uniquely challenging year. These students deserve a moment in the sun to celebrate starting the next chapter of their lives.

Senior Spotlights, a section on our site dedicated to honoring the graduating seniors of Ashland County, recognizes and highlights local seniors.

The process is simple: Click this link to fill out a form about a senior that deserves to be spotlighted.

Tell us about your senior’s accomplishments, future plans, extracurricular activities, and favorite quote. Include a special message to your senior. And don’t forget to submit a picture showing their good side!

We check each entry for grammar and spelling, which means that it might take a day or two to publish on our site. Each submission will be published on our Senior Spotlight section

Let’s send our area seniors off on a high note. They deserve it.
