ASHLAND – It’s never been easier for Ashland City Schools teachers to apply for local grant funding to innovate in their classrooms, thanks to a new partnership of Ashland City Schools Foundation and Ashland County Community Foundation.
The foundations have agreed to combine and streamline the application and administration processes for their respective Teacher Mini-Grant programs.
With this change, educators in the Ashland City School district can now fill out a single application to have their program or project considered for funding through either foundation.
Teachers may receive up to $2,000 from Ashland City Schools Foundation and up to $1,000 from Ashland County Community Foundation.
“For years, our foundations have each been offering grants for similar purposes through two separate processes,” said ACSF Board President Dr. Dwight McElfresh. “We’re confident that by working together, we can simplify the grant process and elevate the profile of both programs.
“More importantly, together we can do more to support our outstanding Ashland City School District educators.”
With the new partnership in place, grant applications from Ashland City Schools teachers will be reviewed first by ACSF. Applications not selected for ACSF funding or not fully funded by ACSF will then go to ACCF’s Teacher-Mini Grants committee for consideration.
Teachers from other school districts in Ashland County may also apply for Teacher Mini-Grants through the same process. Though they are not eligible for ACSF funding, they can receive grants from ACCF’s county-wide program.
“This single application should cut down some of the confusion and some of the grant application work for teachers in Ashland City Schools,” said Kristin Aspin, Chief Program Officer at ACCF. “We hope the streamlined process, along with our joint marketing efforts, will inspire more teachers to apply for funding.”
