OLIVESBURG — Crestview returns home on Saturday night for its second-round playoff game, and faces a formidable challenge in the process.

The Cougars host a powerful Colonel Crawford team that has lost only to Carey (35-17) this year.

Hillsdale is also in action this weekend. Here’s a closer look at both games.

No. 7 Colonel Crawford (10-1) at No. 2 Crestview (11-0): The Eagles dispatched No. 10 Cardinal Stritch 50-0 in the opening round of the Division VI, Region 22 playoffs. Lincoln Mollenkopf rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns while quarterback Kamryn Lohr threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Carter Valentine. Mollenkopf has rushed for 2,355 yards and 36 touchdowns on 234 carries, while Matt Clinard has 12 rushing TDs. Cartson Feichtner leads the defense with 114 tackles, while Gabe threw has 25 tackles for loss. Parker Ketterman has nine sacks Valentine has a team-high five interceptions.

The Cougars pounded No. 15 Northwood 42-7 last week. Running back Connor Morse has rushed for 1,703 yards and 31 touchdowns on 253 carries, while first-year quarterback Hayden Kuhn has completed 75-of-108 passes for 1,408 yards and 17 touchdowns with just one interception. Kuhn has a pair of reliable targets in Gabe Smedley and Adison Reymer. Smedley has a team-high 27 receptions for 413 yards and six touchdowns. Reymer has 24 catches for a team-best 499 yards and five TDs. Morse has 12 catches for 147 yards and a TD out of the backfield. Morse is the team’s leading tackler with 113 stops. Owen Barker has 12.5 sacks among his 78 tackles.

No. 12 Hillsdale (7-4) at No. 4 Mogadore (8-3): The Falcons stunned No. 5 seed Middlefield Cardinal with a pair of late, fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 12-7 win in the opening round of the Division GVI, Region 21 playoffs last week. Ethan Goodwin scored both TDs for the Falcons on runs of 6 and 2 yards. The game-winner came with 52 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Hillsdale’s Caden Fickes picked off a pair of passes and the Falcons limited Cardinal to 112 yards of total offense. Dual-threat quarterback Jake Hoverstock has completed 65-of-108 passes for 663 yards and eight touchdowns with four interceptions and is Hillsdale’s leading rusher with 613 yards and 10 touchdowns on 108 carries. Presley Lewis has rushed for 549 yards and four TDs. Max Vesper has rushed for 449 yards and four touchdowns and caught 16 passes for 224 yards and a score. Justin Zeigler has a team-high 17 catches for 221 yards, while Cole Sinnett has 14 grabs for 133 yards and three TDs. Defensively, Jax Rogers leads the way with 85 tackles. Vesper has 78 stops and five interceptions.

The Wildcats had their hands full with No. 13 Canton Central Catholic last week, winning 21-13. Quarterback William Butler rushed for 103 yards and scored a touchdown in the final minutes to secure the win. Mason Williams scored a touchdown and blocked an extra point that would have tied the game with 3:30 remaining. The junior rushed for 80 yards on eight carries.
