ASHLAND — The Ashland area saw around three to six inches of snow dump down from the heavens Sunday night. But will it stick around long?
According to the National Weather Service, it might be here for a couple of days.
Snow might start melting on Wednesday, when the temperature is expected to reach a high of 39.
The NWS has forecasted a chance of rain and snow showers after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, but “little or no snow accumulation (is) expected.”
In the meantime, we could see more snow, about a half-inch, to fall through Monday, with a high of 27 and wind gusts reaching 17 to 20 mph, possibly up to 30 mph, according to the NWS.
The snow will likely stick around as a little more has been predicted to fall Monday night before 8 p.m. The temperature will stay around 20.
Temperatures will fall through Friday, with highs expected in the high teens and low 20s.
The roads in Ashland were mostly cleared by Monday at 10 a.m., when the area’s winter weather advisory ended. The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office issued a Level Two snow advisory Sunday evening.
In Level Two, roads are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution.
