ASHLAND — The following criminal charges were filed in February with Ashland County Court of Common Pleas.
• Rickey L. Akers Jr., 37, of Ashland, was charged with possession of a fentanyl-related compound. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 11 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Sept. 7, 2021.
• Joshua Bell, 31, of Ashland, was charged with possession of drugs and aggravated trafficking in drugs. Charges were filed by Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 24 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Feb. 8, 2021.
• William E. Brindle Jr., 43, of Ashland, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 11 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened Sept. 15 through Sept. 16, 2021.
• Olivia R. Campbell, 30, of Mansfield, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 10 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Aug. 8, 2021.
• Mary E. Carter, 31, of Mansfield, was charged with possession of a fentanyl-related compound. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 10 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Aug. 31, 2021.
• Matthew J. Dewitt, 25, of Loudonville, was charged with two counts of possession of drugs. Charges were filed by Loudonville Police Department on Feb. 10 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on July 20, 2021.
• Isaiah Dotson, 20, of Ashland, was charged with complicity in the commission of an offense. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 14 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Feb. 11, 2022.
• Hunter A. M. Gerwig, 20, of Ashland, was charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 11 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Jan. 14, 2022.
• Eduardo Guzaro, 26, of Ashland, was charged with possession of cocaine. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 1 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Jan. 31, 2022.
• Nathaniel Hendrix, 21, of Ashland, was charged with kidnapping. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 14 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Feb. 11, 2022.
• Brandon L. Nusbaum, 27, of Perrysville, was charged with having weapons while under disability and aggravated menacing. Charges were filed by Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 10 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Jan. 8, 2022.
• Makaila Shilling, 18, of Jeromesville, was charged with complicity in the commission of an offense. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 14 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Feb. 11, 2022.
• Kim Shreve, 56, of Ashland, was charged with domestic violence and abduction. Charges were filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 24 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Feb. 21, 2022.
• Maniphong Sivongsak, 49, of Plymouth, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The charge was filed by Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 10 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Aug. 7, 2021.
• Hannah E. Spurgeon, 22, of Medina, was charged with a complaint of extradition, which stemmed from a misdemeanor out of Pennsylvania. It was filed Feb. 2 by Ashland Police Department following a domestic dispute that authorities say happened on Jan. 31.
• Joas Swartzentruber, 74, of West Salem, was charged with two separate counts of rape, gross sexual imposition, sexual imposition, and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Charges were filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 18 in connection with incidents that authorities say happened between Jan. 1, 2019 and Nov. 30, 2021.
• Harold Tester, 20, of Ashland, was charged with complicity in the commission of an offense. The charge was filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 14 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Feb. 11, 2022.
• Giovanni Velez, 28, of Wadsworth, was charged with possession of a fentanyl-related compound and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse, or a combination of them. Charges were filed by Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 11 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Aug. 22, 2021.
• Dominique H. J. Workman, 30, of Columbus, was charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon. Charges were filed by Ashland Police Department on Feb. 22 in connection with an incident that authorities say happened on Feb. 20, 2022.
