Dear readers,
Hello!
I’m excited to be joining the team here at Ashland Source where I’ll be covering workforce development and education in Ashland County.
I’m here as a corps member of Report for America, a national service program to strengthen communities through local journalism.
I just graduated from Ohio University (go Bobcats!), with two bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science. During my time there, I frequently appeared on stage or on camera as a stand-up comedian and host of a comedy late-night show.
I wrote for one of Ohio University’s student publications, The New Political. I also had two internship opportunities at McClatchy DC and WCPO.
At McClatchy DC, I worked on Capitol Hill and covered the Texas delegation of Congress for The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, one of McClatchy’s newspapers. At WCPO I worked in the Ohio statehouse and covered legislative news related to the Cincinnati area.
I was born in Dayton, and grew up in Centerville, a suburb right outside of Dayton. In Centerville, I had access to the nation’s finest donuts courtesy of Bill’s Donut Shop.
Because of Dayton’s proximity to Cincinnati, my loyalty lies with the Cincinnati Bengals and not the Cleveland Browns.
