NANKIN — Mapleton quarterback Kollin Cline fired three TD passes and running back Luke Pryor cracked the 100-yard barrier as the Mounties rolled over Wellington 36-6 in Friday night’s clash.
Pryor shook loose for a 33-yard touchdown run in the opening moments of the game and the Mounties thundered away to a resounding victory.
Josh Nocella returned the ensuing kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown, but that was the Dukes’ lone score of the night. The Mounties dominated defensively.
Quarterback Kolllin Cline’s 40-yard TD strike to Kyle Sloter made it 14-6 at the end of the first quarter. Pryor’s 1-yard plunge finished a 75-yard drive and goosed the margin to 21-6 at halftime.
Cline found Sloter again on a 7-yard touchdown pass and Garrett Kern on a 26-yard aerial to finish the barrage in the third period.
That score triggered a running clock.
Coach Matt Stafford’s team is now 2-0 heading into next week’s contest at Rittman.
