ASHLAND — A new Dollar General store that is already under construction on Cottage Street is set to open this fall and bring 6-10 jobs with it, a spokesperson for Dollar General said.

“Our customers are at the center of all that we do, and meeting customers’ needs is Dollar General’s top priority when choosing store locations,” the spokesperson said.

“In selecting store sites, we take a number of factors into consideration, carefully evaluating each potential new store location to ensure we can continue to meet our customers’ price, value and selection needs.”

The new store at 1601 Cottage St. is being built by MSP Development, a Pennsylvania company with a history of building Dollar General stores. MSP declined to comment on this story, instead suggesting Ashland Source speak with the Dollar General Corporate office.

The new store, the third Dollar General in Ashland, will be the first supermarket installed on Cottage Street south of the freshly installed US 250 and Faultless Drive roundabout.
