When people hear the word ‘family’, many think of their parents, children, siblings or maybe a close friend. When SURGE Staffing internal and external employees hear the word ‘family’, they think of each other.
“SURGE Staffing to me is an extended family. We are compassionate about what we do, and we have fun while doing it. We aren’t just here to find you a job, we are here to find you a career and create a relationship. Your success is our success,” On-Site Manager at SURGE Staffing, Denessa Baker said.
SURGE Staffing hires for and works with a multitude of companies in the Ashland community to find jobs for their employees. They aim to help any individual who comes from any walk of life. SURGE also brings a wide range of skills to individuals and businesses such as recruiting, employee retention, accelerated hiring process, costs and screenings, according to Baker.
One of many individuals SURGE Staffing has been able to help thrive is Ashland native Stephanie Gault.
Gault first went into SURGE two years ago when she was homeless and did not know which direction to turn. She had previously tried other staffing companies, but none felt like the right fit for her. Walking into SURGE Staffing was nerve wracking for Gault, but the staff were so kind and she immediately felt at home.
“They’re just like family to me, [SURGE Staffing] really helps me a lot,” Gault said.
Two years later, Gault is employed at PCA Warehouse and just moved into her own apartment a couple of months ago.
SURGE Staffing sees success stories like Gault’s everyday. Employees are being hired to fill permanent positions and continue to excel in their workplace. The company even has a large quantity of individuals who have spent 10+ years at their job, according to Baker.
SURGE Staffing not only helps their external employees, but their internal as well. Baker has worked at the company for two years and has already made great strides in her career. From staffing specialist to on-site supervisor to on-site manager, Baker believes she has found her calling.
“I have developed a love for assisting others in meeting their goals and found that I am very successful at it. Being with SURGE for two years has shown me that there is always room for growth as an internal or external employee and SURGE will never try to hold you back. We want you to grow, we want you to succeed and we will always be here to assist,” she said.
For some, it may not be easy to take that initial step and walk through the doors of SURGE Staffing to ask for help. SURGE wants the public to know that there is always room for improvement and they are there to lend a hand.
“Google your nearest SURGE Staffing office, get directions and go inside. Our staffing specialists are very welcoming and enthusiastic. They will be eager to assist you in finding the perfect job for you. All of our offices are a judgment free zone and have your best interest in mind,” Baker said.
