JEROMESVILLE — Hillsdale FFA’s Nursery and Landscape team brought home a championship trophy from the district competition on Jan. 17.

The squad traveled to Lorain County Career Center for the event.

Participants in the Nursery and Landscape Career Development Event (CDE) tests students skills in maintaining landscape plants and related products, evaluating equipment and services and performing landscape design.

The Hillsdale FFA team placed first overall. Members Jake Hoverstock placed first individually and Braydon Rakovec was third. The other team members are Logan Garn and Brady Heller.

On Feb. 7, this team will be participating in the State Nursery and Landscape Online ID and two practicums.
