In 2022, we had increases in rounds played, community outings, and dollars raised from our sponsors, non-golfing members and special donors. Your continuing generosity has helped us provide much needed financial support for Brookside and protect this valuable community asset. Make no mistake, your gifts and involvement over the past five years and your continued support in the future has and will make a real difference in the future of the golf course and the community, at large.

As we close the books on our fifth year, the Steering Committee of the Friends of Brookside Golf Course and the Brookside Management Team are pleased to THANK YOU for making 2022 a banner year. Following is our 2022 report to you, our supporters, and to the community.

Together, we provided over $87,625 in 2022 and over $324,922 since 2018 in support of the City of Ashland and, specifically, Brookside Golf Course. Brookside Golf Course was the site of the fifth annual Mayor’s Golf Classic. This outing attracted area sponsors and generated $13,000 before greens fees and other expenses. The outing has been conducted every year since 2018.

Again this year, we helped support over 100 Junior Golfers and their families who participated in the 2022 Junior Golf Program. This program has been in existence for over forty (40) years and continues to attract both volunteers and young players.

The Women’s Instructional Program patterned after the Junior Golf Program completed its third successful year; the local and area junior and senior high

schools continue to use Brookside for league and tournament play; and the men and women of the community participated in the seven (7) weekly leagues.

Everything considered, we met the challenges of 2022 because of the interest and support provided by our Sponsors, non-Golfing Members, special donors, and, particularly, the area golfers who made this a very successful year.

Our motto is “Together We Will Succeed”! On behalf of the Friends of Brookside Golf Course, the Brookside Management Team, the Ashland Mayor and the City Council, it is our pleasure to “Thank You” for your continuing commitment to one of the Community’s truly important assets.
