ASHLAND — The future is bright for Ashland girls basketball.

Sophomore Makaree Chapman was selected to the All-District 6 first team in Division I. She is one of three Arrows recognized by the District 6 Coaches Association and all are underclassmen.

Fremont Ross’ Destiny Robinson was selected the Division I Player of the Year. Fremont Ross’ Juan Vela was the Coach of the Year.

Chapman averaged 9.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game for the Arrows. Freshman Camryn Cox was a second-team pick after averaging 7.1 points and 6.5 rebounds a game. Sophomore Lauren Green was an honorable mention selection. Green averaged 5.0 points and 5.8 rebounds a game.

Other Division I first-team choices included Fremont Ross’ Janiah Holmes and Carma Johnson and Tiffin Columbian’s Dallas Poll.

Second-teamers were Fremont Ross’ Lundi Wolf, Sandusky’s Emerie Morgan and Tiffin Columbian’s Mackenzie Davis and Alexis Smith.

Fremont Ross’ Abby Cahill and Sandusky’s Ra’Kiya Collier were honorable-mention selections.
