ASHLAND— Ashland Source Lead Reporter Dillon Carr stopped by WRDL’s studios on Thursday for Ashland Source‘s weekly segment on The Early Bird’s Word.
He spoke about Nathan Bernhard, an Ashland high school freshman football player who was pleasantly surprised recently with an offer to play at Penn State University.
Bernhard, a 6 foot 5 inch quarterback, played five games in the 2022-23 season and has already shown promise.
Carr then spoke about the situation in East Palestine and what officials have said about people around here being worried about water and air quality.
Ashland, Richland and Knox counties are upwind and upstream from the train derailment that prompted an emergency evacuation in early February. Health officials, therefore, are not concerned with the quality of local water sources and the air.
