CANAAN TOWNSHIP – A Medina man was killed Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash in Wayne County, according to the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Harry D. Hall, 66, of Medina, was pronounced deceased at the scene, the Patrol stated.

The incident took place at 3:59 p.m. on Ohio 83 north of Britton Road in Canaan Township of Wayne County.

According to the Patrol, the crash involved a white 2015 Freightliner Cascadia tractor trailer driven by Jacob W. Taylor, 41, of Litchfield, and a gray 2011 Audi A4 driven by Hall.

Initial investigation revealed Taylor was southbound on Ohio 83. Hall was traveling northbound on Ohio 83. The Patrol reported that Hall’s vehicle traveled left of center striking Taylor’s vehicle head on. After impact both vehicles traveled off the west side of the roadway.

Taylor was transported by Canaan Township Fire Department to Lodi Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol License and Commercial Standards Unit, Wayne County Coroner’s Office, and the Ohio Department of Transportation assisted on scene.

Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in this crash, the Patrol reported. Both drivers were belted. The crash remains under investigation.
