ASHLAND — Report for America Corps Member Nathan Hart rolled up to the WRDL studios on Thursday for the publication’s weekly segment on The Early Bird’s Word.
Hart chatted about his recent trips and two stories he wrote for Ashland Source.
Hart was in St. Joseph, Missouri in March and Dallas, Texas at the beginning of April to cover the Ashland University women’s basketball team’s journey through the NCAA tournament. He chatted with the hosts about the places he visited in both cities and his impression of them.
The first story Hart discussed was about the Loudonville-Perrysville board of education’s recent move to start seeking bids for a new greenhouse. The district’s current greenhouse — which is used by FFA and agriscience students — is old and decaying, so the district and the booster club are working to get a new one.
Hart also talked about his recent story on the United Way’s annual meeting, where the group celebrated reaching its fundraising goal and elected new board members and officers for the coming year.
