ASHLAND — The Arrows are trending in the right direction as the postseason approaches.
Ashland (10-9) picked up the No. 12 seed in the Division I tournament draw Sunday and will host No. 14 Toledo Start at 5 p.m. May 15.
The Arrows have won four of their last five games going into this week’s key Ohio Cardinal Conference home-and-home series against Wooster. The Generals are 10-2 in OCC play while the Arrows are 8-4.
A win over Start in the tournament opener would send Ashland into a sectional final showdown against top-seeded Anthony Wayne at 5 p.m. May 17 at Anthony Wayne High School.
Division III
Firelands Conference leader Crestview picked up the No. 4 seed in the Division III Shelby district and took a first-round bye. The Cougars (14-4) will host either No. 6 Kansas Lakota or No. 10 Bucyrus in a sectional championship game at 5 p.m. May 19.
Mapleton (10-5) is the No. 12 seed in the Cuyahoga Community College district and will host No. 19 Tuslaw in the sectional semifinals at 5 p.m. May 15.
No. 17 seed Northwestern (5-9) will visit No. 11 Mogadore at 5 p.m. May 15. A win would send the Huskies into a sectional championship game against No. 5 Black River (15-6).
Division IV
Hillsdale earned the No. 2 seed in the Division IV Medina district and will host either No. 7 Kidron Central Christian or No. 10 Oberlin at 5 p.m. May 18 in a sectional final. KCC hosts Oberlin at 5 p.m. May 16 in the sectional semifinals.
Loudonville is seeded fourth in the Medina district and will host No. 5 Rittman in a sectional final game at 5 p.m. May 18.
South Central (6-11) is seeded seventh in the Galion district and will visit No. 6 Plymouth in the sectional semifinals at 5 p.m. May 16.
Eighth-seeded New London (4-12) will host No. 11 Crestline in the sectional semifinals at 5 p.m. May 16.
