ASHLAND — Natalie Atkins and Allison Morlock have each been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the Ashland Elks Lodge 1360. The scholarships are awarded annually to children or grandchildren of members of the local lodge.

Natalie is the daughter Nate and Joni Atkins and granddaughter of Elks member John Atkins.

She is a member of the class of 2023 at Ashland High School. Natalie is a four-year scholar-athlete and was named AHS Homecoming Queen this past fall. She excelled as an athlete in varsity softball and swimming/diving.

She has numerous softball season and career records for total hits and runs scored. Natalie has obtained her STNA certification and served as an intern in Dr. Brian Garrison’s dental practice.

She will build on this experience by pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene at Owens Community College.

Allison is the daughter of Cory and Amber Morlock and granddaughter of Elks members Rick and Amy Lingle. She is a member of the class of 2023 at Norwayne High School. Allison is a member of National Honor Society and achieved academic all-Ohio honors.

She served as 4-H president and was a member of student council. She served in the Aultman Ambassador Program, peer tutoring and prom committee. Athletically, she excelled in multiple sports, earning WCAL volleyball and track and field honors. In track and field, she earned district and regional honors and was a state qualifier in the shot put.

Allison plans to attend Ashland University on a partial track scholarship and major in Early Childhood Education.
