ASHLAND – The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Ashland is celebrating the grand re-opening of RJ’s Spray Park, and kids from Ashland County and surrounding communities are invited to join the fun,
RJ’S Spray Park Open House will take place on Saturday, July 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, 527 East Liberty Street, Ashland.
“We’ve heard feedback from the community – they really missed the splash pad! It was dismantled in 2020 to make room for the construction of the indoor water park and fitness center,” says Dan Lawson, PhD, Director of Community Relations and Development for the Ashland Kroc Center.
“It was always one of our goals to bring it back, and now here we are, thanks to the generous support of the Archer Family and the Norma Foundation.”
Lawson adds that while The Salvation Army team is excited for the splash park to serve as an amenity and attraction for the Ashland community, RJ’s Spray Park also serves another important purpose.
“All funds from memberships and day passes help support the social services at the Ashland Kroc Center, like the food, utility, emergency and holiday assistance programs,” Lawson explains.
At RJ’S Spray Park Open House, attendees will be able to enjoy the splash pad for the first time since the private blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the many other amenities offered at The Salvation Army’s Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
Plus, during the Open House, the Ashland Kroc Center is opening up their entire building so you can check out additional opportunities for wellness and fun, including:
indoor water park
fitness center
cycling room
bounce house
roller skating
Pre-registration is not required for the July 1 Open House; however, if you are planning to attend and you’re either a new visitor or it’s been a while since you’ve visited, you are strongly encouraged to either come into the Kroc Center and update/create a guest profile, or visit us online https://krocsales.usaeast.org/#/ashland/program/cd02dbfd-86a7-4461-8691-c1ee73ad3ba2 so that we can expedite your check-in the day of the event, and for visits after July 5.
Once RJ’s Spray Park is open, it will be free to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Members of the Ashland Kroc Center will have access during the remaining hours of operation. To commemorate the opening of the new spray pad, special Summer Splash Passes will be available for purchase and will give families (up to 6 people) access to the indoor water park, spray pad and fitness center from July 1 through Aug. 31, 2023 for just $100.
