ASHLAND — The Ashland County Retired Teachers Association has opened its next chapter meeting to all ORTA members and to all retired educators in the area.

Dr. Randy Overbeck, highly acclaimed, best-selling author to present Ashland County Retired Teacher Association program on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Christ United Methodist Church (in the Fellowship Hall) at 11:30 a.m. at 1140 Claremont Ave., Ashland.
Reservations are needed ASAP.
As an educator, Overbeck served children in roles captured in his five novels, from teacher and coach to principal and superintendent.
Other retired teacher associations report that he gives a wonderfully enjoyable program.
His novels have earned national awards including the Gold Award from Literary Titan, thriller of the Year from Readers Favorite, Silver Award for Mystery of the Year from Readerviews, and the Crown of Excellence from Ind’Tale Magazine.
His most recent series, The Haunted Shores Mysteries, have become Amazon and Barnes and Noble Bestsellers.
His newest project is his new podcast, Great Stories about Great Storytellers, with the weird and unusual backstories of great storytellers like authors, directors and poets.
When he’s not podcasting or writing his next blockbuster, you can find him speaking to audiences across the country, sharing his multi-media presentations, Things Still Go Bump in the Night, A Few Favorite Haunts, and Everything You Wanted to Know About Publishing.
Overbeck also served on the Ohio for Retirement Teachers Association (ORTA) Board for seven years, serving as president 2016-2018.
