ASHLAND — The city of Ashland recently gained another street.

Township Road 743, a dead-end access road to Conery Manufacturing and Ohio Tool Works, will officially be called Enterprise Parkway — and be maintained by the city.

Ashland City Council voted unanimously Dec. 19 to name the road “Enterprise Parkway,” a move that comes around five months following the annexation of 91 acres of Montgomery Township land to the city.

The annexation became official in July, when the Board of Ashland County Commissioners ratified the agreement.

That agreement, approved July 18, states the township will receive 50% “of the real estate taxes, levied and collected upon the property within the described area, for a period of 50 years.”

After 50 years, the city would receive 100% of the real estate tax revenue, the agreement reads.

The agreement also says the township would continue to receive 100% of its lodging taxes in perpetuity should any hotels or other lodging accommodations be built on annexed land.
