Frances L. Stafford (Egner) passed away on December 30, 2023 at UH Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Ashland County / Milton Township November 6, 1931 to Virgil and Lenna (Barr) Egner. She lived in Ashland her entire life. She was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1951. Frances married Richard Stafford at Paradise Hill Church and would have been married 72 years. She liked to read, decorate, loved to do outside work, bake and watch cooking shows. She lided to keep up on the grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities and sports. She enjoyed camping with Richard and her children over the years. She was a past member of Paradise Hill Church, a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and helped in the one year old class for 10 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1962. She was a past member and secretary of the Paradise Hill Community Club. She was employed at Cresco in the office as a filing clerk until she was married.

Surviving are four children; Mike Stafford, Becky (Doug) Martin, Debbie (Mark) Lewis and Kevin (Bobbi) Stafford. Also surviving is one sister, Rosella Bates. Four grandchildren; Rick (Stacy) Summerton, Kristi (Mike Larue) Sampson, Justin Lewis and Kaleb Stafford also survive. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; Brendon (Fiancee Payton Atchison) Summerton, Hunter Summerton, Emilia Summerton, Aunica Sampson, Chaden Sampson and Alyssa Sampson, Khaleesi Miller and Avaleigh Summerton.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Richard in January 2002, her parents Virgil and Lenna Egner and two sisters; Jeanette Bowerize and Thelma Rock.

She has a number of loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 6, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Snyder officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday January 6, 2024 from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
