Carole Joanne Humbert, 89, passed away at her home on Monday, February 19, 2024.
Carole was born December 11, 1934 in Mansfield, Ohio to John and Lucille (Schroeder) Leedy. Carole was a homemaker for much of her life as she raised her family. Later in life, she worked a few clerical jobs in the Mansfield area. She was a member of Franklin United Methodist where she was a secretary for several years. She was a gifted singer, singing with the local chapter of Sweet Adelines, Mid-Ohio Sound, and the Canton City of Flags Chorus. She sang with the church choir, with her sisters, and in a quartet called “Daddy’s Girls”. Carole was a fabulous cook, and many raved about her special dishes.
Carole is survived by her daughters, Janie (Chip) Poland, Jody (Jeff) Spelman and Amy (John) Wise; her grandchildren, Brit (Susan) Brafford, Bethany (Shaun) Hickey, Brooke (Merrill) Hudgens, Matt (Trista) Poland, Courtney (Zach) Ringler, Jonathan (Anna Marie) Spelman, and Jordan (Amanda) Spelman; her great-grandchildren, Brynn and Luke Brafford, Kyla and Kayden Brafford, Malley Hickey, Nick Poland, Ava, Kenley, and Foster Ringler, Junia, Quin, and Avila Spelman, Rowan and Josie Spelman, and Jayden Hudgens; and her sister, Bette Murphy.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Roger Humbert; and her siblings, James Leedy Sr., Wanda Robertson, and Dan Leedy.
Guests will be received from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. An additional hour of visitation from 10:00-11:00 am on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the funeral home. Pastor Brian Amstutz will officiate the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Carole will be laid to rest at Franklin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or Faith United Methodist Church.
