ASHLAND — The contested race between Republican sheriff candidates Chad Enderby and Kurt Schneider this spring has attracted plenty of attention in Ashland County.

With no Democratic candidates or independent candidates filing before the primary deadline, whichever candidate wins the primary will be the sole candidate on the ballot for sheriff in November.

The winner of that November election will begin the job of sheriff on Jan. 1, 2025, and earn a $78,926 annual salary.

With the sheriff position likely on the line tonight, your Ashland Source reporters will be bringing you live updates from Enderby’s and Schneider’s camps.

Dillon Carr is in attendance at the American Legion, where Schneider will be watching election results with family, friends and supporters.

Mariah Thomas will be at Mt. Vernon Estates, with Enderby’s team.

Follow along with them as they share live updates from both campaign events, live election results and more here.
