ASHLAND — On Monday, April 8, 2024, the total solar eclipse will occur. ODOT has worked with its contractors to reduce the size of work zones and open as many lanes as possible. 

Do not stop on the highway to watch the eclipse. Plan ahead for longer travel times in areas within and near the path of totality.

ODOT crews are fully staffed ahead of, during, and after the event to aid with traffic control.

Roadway work is anticipated to resume back to normal the following day, Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Ashland County

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ashland County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting and is subject to change.

U.S. 42 & Ohio 302 intersection

The U.S. 42 and State Route 302 intersection will be converted from the current two-way stop-controlled intersection into a single lane roundabout.

Crews are mobilizing in the area to begin work. There are currently minimal impacts to traffic. Estimated completion: October 2024.

Ohio 89 & Ohio 302 intersection

The State Route 89 and State Route 302 intersection will be converted from the current two-way stop-controlled intersection into a single lane roundabout.
