Janet M. Winter, 87
Janet Mae Winter, 87, of Ashland Ohio passed away at a facility in Wooster on Wednesday, May 1st 2024.
She was born on February 28th 1937, in Akron Ohio to Leland W. Howman and Ruth Mae (nee Kendig) Howman.
Throughout her life Janet often participated in her church activities, such as bible study, acting as a greeter and organizer of events. She was also an active member in the local senior center.
In her free time, Janet was an excellent ballroom dancer and took great pride in this skill.
Janet worked for many years as an employee of the Mary Kay Corporation before entering retirement.
For over 40 years, Janet resided in the Dallas, Texas area before returning to Ashland County.
She is survived by her daughter Jan (Jack) Eshelman of Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Lisa Winter; four grandchildren, Andrew and Michael Winter of Texas, Janae and Jacey Eshelman of Tennessee; one great-grandchild, Sunnie Jayde Simcox of Tennessee, niece RuthAnn (Don) Royer and other numerous nieces and nephews who reside in Arizona. The family would like to thank Janet’s cousin Bonnie (Larry) Oberholtzer for all they did for Janet and her family.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Steven R. Winter who passed away in 2008; her sister, Jane Curry; and brothers, Howard, Harry, and Earl Howman.
As per Janet’s wishes, no services will be conducted.
